Just a thought, any-one seen scientific, or medical research, which outlines the benefits, or health giving properties of smoke inhalation from ciggies?

There is plenty of supposed evidence from the anti-smoke lobby, surely, there is  evidence some-where from the tobacco industry to support smoking, giving glowing health giving benefits.

Personally I think people should be given freedom of choice, and cigarettes should be on show for who-ever wishes to purchase them.

Sure Don,
to be absolutely non judgmental and unbiased to state an INFORMED opinion, why don’t you do the same amount of research on the subject as you did on the anti-matter???????

Marijuana  ciggies...... no I don’t smoke them, but I’d eat them if given the chance.

O
Owen, do you remember those sweet cigarettes 5 in a  packet for a penny ?. As everybody seemed to smoke in those far off days we kids thought it was really cool. They were in a fancy packet but i can’t recall the name.

The research into the effect of smoking on the human body in tainted and has produced totally unreliable results.

No evidence has been produced other than to show that smoking is harmful to animals. Humans have not been used in these tests.

As Dave Allen once said, "All these people who don’t smoke or drink can draw comfort from the fact that when they die it will be from something not very serious".

Whilst it may be true that humans have not been subjected to laboratory testing to ascertain what effect smoking has on the human physiology smokers have been around long enough for informed opinion to be reached.

That, in my opinion, confirms the earlier and inevitable suppositions and suspicions that it is indeed harmful to humans.  Put another way, the tobacco companies have had years to observe the effect their products have on humans - as have the scientists, doctors,  and oncologists.

As I said in my last post on this thread it is everyone’s choice as to whether or not they smoke and I would never interfere with that choice.  Again, in my opinion it is better for the sake of one’s health not to smoke rather than to do it.

The argument that there is so much pollution from other sources that smoking is only one of the possible causes of illnesses holds no water for me but merely reinforces my view that, if there is so much of it about, then surely it is wiser to cut out that which we can control.   That is smoke inhalation from tobacco products.

This will be my last post on this subject for I cannot think of anything else to say and that there can no longer be any meaningful discussion on the subject as all avenues have been covered and all opinions must have surely been stated by now.

Yep I remember those, they had a little red tip on the end, addicts ended up with diabetes.

I used to smoke 60 tabs a day.....then stopped completely, no cutting down. I tried the cutting down way several times before that but it didn’t work for me.

Morality is doing what’s right regardless of what you’re told. Obedience is doing what you’re told regardless of what’s right....What is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right.
