Quite a good report from John Simpson on BBC News last night. As you all say, the lady spouts political words only. Their armed forces have been greatly reduced as well, and the other South American countries have no wish to become involved, the trade agreements between themselves and Europe are to valuable.

As usual a group of "rent a crowd" left wingers had a go at the British Embassy, but it was also clear that the riot police had no intention of letting things get out of control.

Kirchner is keeping the whole affair political, because like it or not, in these post-imperialistic times she has a better chance of success at the UN.

I’m a keen philatelist and collect Falkland Islands stamps, dealing direct with the philatelic department in Stanley. I often chat with the girls on line after placing an order, they’re quite happy to have the Union Flag in the top right hand corner of their national flag.

Falklands War

I will always remember the Falklands War as my son who was 18 served on HMS Hermes and we went to Pompey to welcome the ship back on his 19th birthday, how emotional it all was and it was sad for us as a friend of my eldest daughter was killed on HMS Argonuat.

Falklands 30 years on

History is made in  many forms
Not  known to one and all
Some of the facts are documented
Others older persons recall
A conflict that is ever in my mind
Well past my Service time
When the biggest Armada since World War 2
Left the U K shores for the South Atlantic clime
To thwart the claim by Argentina
To seize a Sovereign Isle
That was the task of the British Military force
Carried out in their own inimitable style
But many men suffered and many men died
In the Falklands all those years ago
And many were mentally wounded
The scars of their wounds never show
For the damage to them was buried deep
In their souls and in their mind
With an ever constant reminder
Of the colleagues they left behind
The horror of battle the noise and the smell
For the survivors is with them yet
So let’s bow our heads and remember them all
Our heroes we must never forget.
As we go about our everyday chores
How many would stand and think of the cost
Of that tragic conflict in the South Atlantic
Where all those young lives were lost.

A Tale of Two Islands

I’ve just read an interesting article, by Peter Presland, Global Research, titled.....

"BRITAIN AND THE EMPIRE: Falklands and Chagos - A Tale of Two Islands."

Morality is doing what’s right regardless of what you’re told. Obedience is doing what you’re told regardless of what’s right....What is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right.

Alright Alan, You do seem to have a thing about the ’Left Wing’ don’t you. Grouping the Quebracho movement with run of the mill Left Winger such as me is akin to me saying the Tories & the BNP are the same.

A situation may be desperate but never serious
