This thread reminds me of a story I heard long ago.
A man was marooned on a desert island with only a sheep for company. After e few weeks he began to get urges that just wouldn’t go away so he approached the sheep from behind and prepared to mount said sheep but the sheep would nit stand still. This situation went on for weeks until he spotted a raft drifting ashore upon which was a beautiful voluptuous girl. He swam out to the raft and dragged it ashore and gave the girl mouth to mouth resuscitation and saved her life. When she had recovered she flung herself on him and said "My Hero? is there anything I can do for you?"
He stepped back, looked at her and said "Yes, there is something you can do for me.  "Anything"  she breathed.
"Can you hold this bloody sheep for me!!" he asked.

Live long and prosper

I’m afraid you are indeed wrong Colum,  Irony is much more subtle than sarcasm!

Just to spoil the flow, you are both incorrect. Sarcasm is a ’genre’ consisting of a number of sub genres. Pathos, Hyperbole and Irony to name but three.

Don’t send loose coin as it falls out of the envelope!

I’m sure when I read the book they were Pathos, Hyperbole and Aramis.

That’s the buggers! Then there was the little turdy one who kept sticking his beak in: Litotes. He was the Greek Musketeer.

Well, well, I didn’t realise we had so many experts on sheep, and the multiple and varied techniques for "taking care " of them. This being so, can someone suggest a method and/or equipment required for the removal of "sheep-ticks" from a sensitive area?

You have to be proactive here.  As well as having Derri Boots two sizes bigger to accomodate all legs, you also need to smear the sensitive area with axle grease prior to the act.
