Lost Medals

My grandfather Albert Vaughan left me three war medals from the first World War.
My mother (who is quite elderley) thinks she remembers more. I would like to know how to find his service history. On the back of one medal is written G - 1224
PTE.A.VAUGHAN. MIDDEX R.
I would love to hear from anyone who can point me in the right direction. I live in Tasmania Australia and am hopeful that won’t make a difference.
Thank you. Ann

Service Number:  G - 1224
Rank:  Private
Name:  A.VAUGHAN
Regiment:  Middlesex Regiment

You may need to contact the national Archives (You can Find website Via Google)

Sadly the War Office will no longer Issue WW1 Medals, so you would have to obtain replica’s at your own expense from a Medals dealer.
