Well Terry, I guess it must be that, being of a certain age and perhaps leading somewhat sheltered lives, thee and me never learned what a chuff chart might be. Of course, the other thing is that it might be peculiar to the RAF. They always were a bit of a funny lot... Cheers, Syd.
Hi Syd, I don’t think it’s a term coined by the glorious Royal Air Force.
The first time I heard it called a ’Chuff Chart’ was when my son was on his first tour in Afghanistan and he’s in the Army.
Shakespeare may have asked "What’s in a name?" but in this case I think it’s rather an appropriate one, certainly for those left at home counting down the days. I know that every time my darling boy landed back at Brize I was extremely chuffed!
*translation note for those not yet aware...... "Chuffed" means very happy/pleased.
John (R), Ooh! You are a silly boy! Of course we wore jimjams. We’d have looked really silly walking around in just a pair of fluffy slippers!!
O.K. Sorry to have interrupted the jolly banter. Do please carry on....... it’s such fun!
