Good morning to all. I am just cleared from having my supper and opened the computer to see who is about.
Good morning to you Vickie and hope that you can get Ian back from his excursions to put up those blinds.
Morning to you Colum, and hope that the rain has stopped for a while. We are in a sort of drought condition at the moment. I have had to spend two hours topping up the gardens with that wet stuff to ensure that the vegies come on and not get retarded growth. I am expecting rain later this week. Knowing our luck, it will be Christmas day.
Another very hot day today and so warm that I had to go and lie down for a Grandpappy knap at lunch time. Only managed two hours and then a shower.
Just had a couple of hours in the pub ensuring that I keep up the hydration with a few cold ales.
To all those who have not got out of bed yet, have a fine day and stay safe.

Consult the veteran, not the incompetent Politicians.

Out before dawn again tomorrow Roly and tee off at first light but only doing 9 holes this time I found 18 holes was a little to much for my not so young body. To many rather steep hills on the back nine.

Hello Vicky why don’t you in the summer months enjoy a round of golf with Sian and her mum and dad.
Don’t need to play, go for the walk or drive a buggy. You may just get tempted to have a go. One thing for sure you will get to know some very friendly people. It was certainly a great age for Sian to start playing. I am hoping to take Calum, Mollies 10 year old brother to the golf course during the spring and summer he can play with me for free. He enjoys playing sports and it will cost nothing to see if he enjoys it or not.

Good morning Colum no sign of Harry yet this morning.

86 not old if you take care of you self Vicky. I wonder what the travel insurance was for your neighbour to jet off to South Africa. I would love to go again but I think money wise it will be out of the question.

Hugh I live too far away from Sian to go round the golf course with her unless we were staying and I am sure she would far rather go round with all her teenage friends than with Grandma. I get all my walking with Patch.

My neighbour Jack is quite well off and I am not sure that he can get insurance now, he did say to me that he has enough money to cover emegencies should they arrive. He still drives to the South of France every summer where he has a mobile home. I have just taken him some mince pies that I made this morning.

I am trying to keep out of the way just now while Ian is fitting the blinds unless he needs a helping hand but we dont work well together.

Yes Vicky, Sian certainly would prefer go out with her teenage friends but if she plays with her Mum & Dad one more to make up the family unit is not a bad idea for a day out, when you join them for an holiday. When my son Trevor was her age he used to go out playing bowls with his Grandad most weekends.

Jack well off so I expect he as got travel insurance we oldies just have to shop around and pay a little extra Vicky. I am 72 and my credit card still covers me but have to pay £50 top up each year but its still very good because it insure me to scuba dive down to 30 metre.

The weather today been rather damp and cold just hope its a little dryer and warmer to morrow.
