Medical Advice???

I wonder why some of the posters on here bother at all with doctors when all they do is apparently ignore advice, refuse treatments, follow unhealthy life styles, refer to exceptional cases of people living long lives against the odds in justification and generally act like babies instead of discussing things in a grown up manner.

Some also criticise doctors openly and call them in uncomplimentary terms which I feel in general that they do not deserve.   I wonder if they were to have a heart attack would they refuse a ride in an ambulance to the local hospital where their life may be saved on the grounds that vehicles have drivers who may have accidents and that it is therefore unsafe to board one?

We have also side issues about whether or not someone is a genuine ex-serviceman or not.  We all know that one can be a member of this site even if we have never been in any of the Services.  My record is on for all to see and I have no problem with anyone knowing that I was a National Serviceman although I extended my association with the army with almost seven years in the TA.

In fact I was exposed to more danger during my short time in khaki serving abroad than many who served far longer than I but never went further from home than a few hundred miles into Scotland or Wales or perhaps from there into England.

What is inexcusable is when someone pretends to be Ex-Service.  If you are I say prove it.   If not admit it and preferably move off the site.

As to having been declared ready to pop ones clogs I have truly been so close to death so many times that I have ceased worrying about it.  It will happen someday.  I was even declared stillborn so top that!!!!

Whatever ones life style is it is of no one else’s business.  I would not criticise anyone for following their own choice.  Neither do I accept anyone else criticising mine - except of course my wife who, like all good ladies has my best interests at heart.

Now Ladies and Gentlemen, do we really need another merry-go-round of insults?

TC.

Quoting John (scouse) Hirons,
Don, I’ve answered your question, now you answer mine are you flaming or just too thick to understand basic English.

I assume you mean rhetoric my excuse for spelling mistakes is I suffer from dyslexia...what’s yours?

                    ...............................

As they say at the panto, "Oh!, No you haven’t,"

The question was, (once again)
                            ..................

What is most important to you? the wellbeing of our armed forces? or your dislike of the instigators?
                               ...............

The question was asked in the "Stop The Cuts" post,
I reproduce it below,

First of all I am not a member of UKIP, but must admit am starting to lean that way. In elections I vote for whichever political party I feel will benefit first me, and then the country, I am not committed to either main party, as I have previously stated I consider myself apolitical, I can be swayed by argument and reason.

Unfortunately the difference between the two main parties to-day is negligible, not enough difference to warrant sitting either side the house.

You have called the Tories criminals over the cuts to the armed forces, I agree with that assessment, which also applies to the previous administration, Labour.

What I find childish, is the fact that after all that you have said about this administration, you will not commit your signature to a petition to demand a debate on defence cuts (which is sorely needed), and you state this quite cheerfully, because it originated from a source you object to.

What is most important to you? the wellbeing of our armed forces? or your dislike of the instigators?

Being ex-forces, I find the answer a no brainer, but you appear to put your sensibilities before the needs of our present active brothers in arms, shame on you, a pathetic reason, a very poor excuse.
                     ............................

The question is the last but one paragraph, it has a question mark after it, "with me, so far". in case you are not, I will repeat it s-l-o-w-l-y.

W h a t,   i s,   t h e,  m o s t,  i m p o r t a n t,  t o,     y o u,  T h e,  w e l l b e i n g,  o f,   o u r,  a r m e d,
f o r c e s,?   o r,  y o u r,   d i s l i k e,   o f,   t h e,
i n s t i g a t o r s?
                      ........................
are you with me so far? I hope so.

easy question, should not be difficult,

We will call the first part of the question A

The second Part B

The third part requires no decision, so you can ignore that. so if it offends your sensibilities to answer at length, just answer A  or  B problem solved, seeeemmpples

Are you sure you wish to go down the road of an occasional spelling mistake?

Also the medical side of your post, other than small problems, I have no call for the NHS.

If in your esteemed?? opinion, I am flaming, do whatever turns you on.

As for the being thick, and having a grasp of  English, I leave that for others to judge.

You have been far more abusive than I, but reading through your posts, it is to be expected, kinda par for the course.

Don, So as well as being a hypocrite, by your own admition, you have no sense of decency. You like pushing but don’t seem to find it so much fun when someone pushes back, typical of a bully.

You seem to have trouble working out basic English, having answered your pathetic attempt at ridicule by posing a question that has been answered twice you have either fail to understand or want to cause trouble by refusing to understand. Now be a good little boy & go & play on the motorway.

A situation may be desperate but never serious

Don, You are deliberately eating high cholesterol food stuffs & when you get angina or a heart attack you should be refused free tratment on the NHS, you’re also drinking whisky which causes cirrhosis of the liver when your liver packs in you should be made to pay for all you madical treatment why should we pay to keep you alive.
                    ................................
I have a heart condition (so do you, as you often remark) had this since August 1995.

I drink a glass of whisky as per a doctors suggestion, and very nice it is too,

My cholesterol is 4.8, not bad for a man of my age.

Blood pressure is  114 over 69/70, that also is pretty good.

I walk up-to 5miles each day before breakfast, then have 45grams porridge oats one sliced banana mixed with 250ml water microwaved for 4 mins add one teaspoonful of honey, mix in, and thinned with full fat milk. ( I’ve had this breakfast everyday since 1995) this lasts until lunch, a gap of 4hrs,  lunch is normally soup and a bread cob, tea is between 1730/1800hrs, this can be one of a fantastic number of concoctions.
I shall be 76 next birthday, so I don’t think that I have anything to complain about, and in Jan 2012 I going to Lanzarote for 11 weeks, our winter hols.

I have private insurance that about covers me for everything.

Oh! John, I will not pick you up on your spelling,
very childish.

Don, After your gloating post stating that you eat;

"Welsh full-fat Blue, the taste is out of this world,
Soft, melts in the mouth, gosh I’m slobbering, have it with crackers, with butter on, and a good whisky, wonderful late supper"

this is after you had demanded that smokers should pay for any hospital treatment they need, you sir are a hypocrite.

You know as well as I that private hospitals don’t deal with heart surgery in the UK it’s done on the NHS, so I hope you lived up to your word & payed cash for the heart work you had brought on yourself, although I doubt it.

Ps   Oh dear after you kicking up about site etiquette you have ignored it yet again, as I said hypocrite.

Your right, I didn’t pay for any hospital treatment when I had my heart attacks (2) I had them in Lanzarote and my insurance paid for treatment. worked out just under 20K, I had no surgery.

You are old enough to understand that all food is acceptable in moderation.

I do not accept your description of being an hypocrite. my world is black and white, no grey areas.

But you may call me an hypocrite if you so desire,
You, sir are a fool.
