|Thanks for the kind thoughts, everyone. Julia’s Mum was 87 and had been suffering from Alzheimers for over 18 months. She had lost the use of her legs, didn’t recognise anyone, could hardly speak and had no real quality of life.|
Alzheimers is a very cruel disease and it reduced Julia’s Mum from a lively, intelligent lady into a ’shell’ within a very short time. Fortunately, she died peacefully and in a split second had gone. A truly merciful release and she is now, hopefully, reunited with Julia’s Dad who died in December 2003. They had been married for 57 years and had grown up next door to each other.
A sad end but a long and happy life.
Thanks again, Julia was really touched.
