On Forces Re-united
Several years ago
I ventured into the Chat Room
Where people seemed to go
To spend some time with other Members
And have a friendly Chat
That’s where I met Maria Naples
A young lady who could do just that
It was a popular venue
Where people would meet each night
And maybe have a laugh or two
Maybe try to put the world to right
Now Maz was a very popular girl
Who was always ready to listen or maybe laugh
Always ready to take a challenge
And she didn’t do things by half
In my book she was “ A wee Scottish Army Girl”
Her life laid out in rhyme
Which demonstrated Maz’s. talents
And she became a dear friend of mine
But 2 years ago she became unwell
And though she tried as hard as she could
She was unable to beat her illness
Tho’ we all hoped that she would
And when I last spoke with her on the phone
She told me the terrible news
That the illness she had was terminal
But she was still determined not to lose
The battle that she fought so well
With grit and determination
And live her life to the full again
Full of anticipation
But sadly I received a phone call tonight
To say the battle had come to and end
For Maria our Maz had passed away
And the loss of a very dear friend.
May you Rest in Peace Maria xxx
