Cap Badges

Gordon, it is correct, the badge has been rejected. You can read the story in the News Telegraph. www.telegraph.co.uk

Many thanks once again.I have printed off the newspaper article and I shall pin it to our Association notice board at our next meeting.
I wonder now what ideas ’they’will come up with next?

Merge The House

We could save all the Regiments if we merged the tories, labour & lib-dems into one after all they all do the same crap.
Scrap the Lords and the country would save enough money not only to save the Regiments but bring back the likes of the Seaforths,DLI,YLI , a surface fleet bigger than Helen Mcarthys, and BUY some Stealth’s from the yanks rather than waste Billions on an already out of date white elephant.
Save All Regimnts

Loss of Identity.

When I enlisted into the Army there were still a number of blokes in the Battalion who would talk about the "old days" when the Battalion was known as The Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers (6th of foot). They were amalgamated on 23rd April 1969 along with the Lancashire/Northumberland and City of London Fusiliers and became known as the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. As time went by, these old soldiers became fewer and fewer until of course none were left. I was later to transfer into the RAOC and I can rememeber the time when alas the powers to be decided that along with several other corps (or part off) we were to become the RLC. No one thought it would work and I for one saw no justification for it. But as time has passed I have been naturally been proved wrong. Times change, needs change and change we must. Many Regiments and Corps have come and gone and have been resigned to the history books. All I can say is that I was proud to serve with all those that I did.
