The good news is that this bunch of braindead cretins will no longer be in power to carry it through..........the bad news is that the recently evicted incompetent morons will be back!

We didnt get one last year.  I wont be too disappointed if we dont - par for the eejits in government.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Colum,

It is likely that you should have received a letter by now indicating that from next week there is an approximate rise of £4:00pw. Obviously there would be variations on this given that people have different pensionable qualifications (prior to qualifying to receive pension payments.
Example: Val will receive £4:00pw. She is on a reduced pension due to not having made full contributions throughout working life. Her friend who did make full contributions is also to receive £4:00, ergo, the liklihood is that this is a block figure paid to all pensionable people.
State pension payments are something of minefield and I have little doubt that another member can come straight back and tell me that they are to receive more or less than £4:00, or indeed, nothing!
Basically if you do not get a letter soon I would make enquiries with the appropriate dept. for N.I.

Mike, are you saying that the pension paid varies according to your length of time contibuting? Is the pension not one amount for everyone over 65?

New Zealand Superannuation , to give it it’s full name. is paid to everyone over 65, and is set at 66 per cent of the average wage and is adjusted annually according to the official cost of living adjustment set by the Reserve bank.
