Once again our esteemed Prime Minister has opened his mouth only to put his foot in it!!
David Cameron declared that the government were considering setting up a ’No Fly’ zone over Libya without knowing exactly what this entails.
Robert Gates ( American Defence Secretary ) was very careful to let the world know that it was a non starter.
To set up such a zone would mean::

Taking out all the Libyan air defence systems.
Taking out all the radar installations.
Disabling all the runways that could be used by
Libyan aircraft.

No simple task even for those who have the aircraft to do it.
And then he stated that it would take, probably, 100 aircraft to patrol the Libyan skies.
Apart from this it would need the agreement of the U.N. to even attempt this.
Did Cameron take ANY advice from the M.O.D. before making such a statement????

And, finally, what has the internal situation got to do with anyone apart from the Libyans? They have not asked for help nor do they require it at the moment.

Live long and prosper

Sorry Scouse but I’ll need my gladius if Cameron keeps on as he is doing.  I can lend you a stick with a nail in it but it is one Mike has finished with - he doesn’t know it’s gone yet so keep it low key.
