I must also mention that most of the British are quite eager to go out to these places with highly paid jobs but seem to be unaware that things can go wrong.
Two of my brothers were in the Middle East recently but when things started kicking off they soon came home.

I have just finished saying something similar on another site.

The Brits in Libya chose to work there for their own financial gain. Most of them out there would not be paying UK taxes because of their length of time outwith the UK.

Yet these people returning from Libya are quick to criticise the Government for not acting quickly enough.

Remembering that the Government did not force them to work in Libya, do they have the right to be so critical?

Thank you for letting me know that Aircraft dont land on sand. I was making the point that other Nationalities were also stranded, something you seemed to have overlooked earlier in your haste to have a usual chip at the Goverment.

Also may be you might like to drop the "Simples"expression Scouse  its a bit juvenile like Arthurs Smileys.

Alright John, They are stranded in the desert not at the airport, a point you missed in your haste to try & score a point & bolster up this unelected Government in an attempt to hide their incompetence.

If pointing out that the might of HM Government couldn’t even organise 2 charter aircraft over a week after countries like Albania & Turkey had started to pull it’s people out is having a "chip" then stand by, the way there are going be more "chips" to come a lot more.

If my use of simples is juvenile it must be nearly as annoying as you constantly telling people how & what to post. I use Simples rarely & will not stop just because you tell me so. I & several other posters use it as a humourous aside so live with it.

A situation may be desperate but never serious

One is a 2 faced lying, self-serving dictator, who sacrifices his people for a vainglorious cause.... and the other one is Col Gadaffi!
