We’ve had this debate several times & it’s still the same answers. The war in Afghanistan is stopping terrorist attacks in the UK. I thank Bush, Blair & the leaders of the 44 other countries who have & still are sending troops to stamp on the terrorist neck. You don’t believe it is protecting the UK, just ask yourself how many bomb attacks were there world wide before we went in & how many since, for that you can thank our Lads & Lasses who are out there protecting us with their bodies.

If we take your advice & have our forces run up the white flag & run away what message will we be sending to any terror group in the world? To answer that look at the far east, once the locals had seen that the west could be beaten by asian forces (in this case the Japanese) there was an up serge of freedom movements & partisan groups. It’s cheaper to fight the terrorist over there than have to rebuild out towns & cities after the ’brave freedom fighters’ have blown them to bits.

Fair Comment John and one I agree too as well.To the doubters I suggest they attend the Funeral of one of the KIA’s and listen to the proud but grieving parents as I do quite often as a Standard Bearer and ask thier opinions.None I have spoken to have nothing but pride in the job our lads and lassies are doing.

Attended the funerals, heard the grieving parents, also heard  from some of these parents that our lads should be brought home before we lose more and also asking why we are out there in the first place, yes we see the words on the TV praising our dead but that does not bring them back,my neighbour lost her son out in Iraq four years ago and she still blames Blair for going to war and for the loss of her son. Now Cameron says that our troops will be out of there before the next election, I don`t believe a word of it--5 years, bring them out now--and Gordon your pick of words ie."The doubters"are you all for our lads getting killed and maimed, surely not, I repeat my self Blair ignored the voice of the people when they paraded in London  against going to war, his head was that far up Bushes a-se he could`nt back down.

Scouse, our troops have not stopped the bombing
ask the Pakistan,Iraqie people, its still going on and again how do you make out that it will
stop terrorism in the UK--it did`t stop the IRA bombing London.  No need to fly a white flag just turn the policing over to the countries own police/army they`ve had years of training from the British Army,we can not afford to lose any more of our lads/lassies,they`ve paid enough protecting people who don`t want them in their country.

Once again you make assumptions & as usual you have got it wrong.

A situation may be desperate but never serious
