Keith those are lovely photos of the Green woodpecker, how did you manage to get them as whenever we see one it flies away before we can get a photo. We do have a black and white one visit the garden.
Graham we went to the garden centre but I didnt buy any plants, just bird food which is really cheap at this centre and a tub to plant a bush in. I really was quite restrained.
Hello Vicky - the Woodpeckers are tricky to photograph, I suspect they must pick up the vibrations from our feet. It took me about fifteen minutes to take those photos, I had to carefully get close hiding behind the trees then use a bit of the zoom. We don,t see the other ones, I think they may be the Lesser Spotted ones.
