If anybody has the gardeners World Mag. have you seen the plans for building bird houses, I have made one today, looks quite good, I will try and make about 6, there are plenty of trees to put them in, so with a bit of luck we may have quite a Bird Nursery.
Vicky another good Garden Centre you may have been to or heard about is "Treasures " at Tenbury Wells, fantastic Climatas nursery, and a lovely house and Garden to visit.
So sad about one of your Robins, I hope it was not the mate of one of the others. We only have one Robin, bet he/she is lonely.
Gail, this site is a lot more peaceful than the Saga  site, got very fed up with the constant sniping. so stay here with us old ( sorry some old) happy gardeners and photographers

Hi Gail. Good to see you back with us. I was impressed with the bird feeding arrangements you have, it looks like you have a very similar menu as Vicky has for them. Her garden is well known in the bird world and they come from miles around for a nosh there.
Ref gardners photographers and birdwatching etc. This Topic was always meant for any interesting lighthearted comment/s or snippets not just these three so do send any.
Be good to hear about your garden, what you like to grow etc. That looks to be a very interesting mixed hedge behind your pole feeder, is it an old one?.
You mentioned Greenfinches and Bullfinches. We get plenty of Greens and as you say they are very greedy and squabble like mad to get at a feeder, very pretty though, some are almost as yellow as Canarys.
I have only seen one Bullfinch in the 26 years we have lived here, that in spite of it at one time being quite extensive orchard country.
Keep posting.  Best wishes. Syd.
