Graham I have been to Webbs several times as we used to live in Tewkesbury so it was just up the motorway from there. I do get a lot of plants from the Daily Mail where you only have to pay the postage, just sent for 3 Roses and all I pay is £3.65 postage. In todays paper there are some Dahlias and again I will only have to pay postage.
This photo is one of my Roses at our last house and is called Dearest.

A couple of Spring photos for you which Ian took in our garden.
Syd I am going to the library this afternoon so will look to see if I can find any books by Beth Chatto.

Hi Vicky, Keith, George.
More good pics of the Swan, Roses,Pansies and Vickys spring bulbs, always nice to see and always interesting.
Speaking of Pansies its quite amazing now the size of some of the bloooms you see, especially on first year plants. Over the years I have found that they do seed about and the flower quality lessens steadily. They always do look nice mind regardless. Interesting whilst out walking to look around for the wild Heartsease with their very tiny flowers. I suppose that all the latest hybrids etc originate from them.
Vicky. The Beth Chatto books are always well worth reading, she really is a very experienced and knowledgeable gardner and is a definite authority on plants generally and rarer and unusual ones especially.Nice style of writing too.
Her own garden is superb and sweeps around 2 or 3 small waters/lakes.
Likewise if you ever see any books by Margery Fish you would enjoy reading these also. She had a beatiful "cottagey" style garden with a very wide range of plants surrounding a lovely old Manor House in Somerset.
May see you later. Syd.
