"Trog boots"

Graham (nice name, that).
Are you on about what we used to call trog boots? Thick sole, screwed on with brass screws, always swung half an inch below where you were walking? The result was a scuffing noise, which went well with our non-waterproof parka kits in the mighty V-force of the 60’s?

trog boots

[Youre right about the name Graham]
No I dont think so, leastways we never had screwy in bits.
They did make you feel about 7 feet though,weird sensation, when you walked.
They looked like ordinary DMS, but with extra thick soles [about 3"].
supposed to keep your feet warmer and dryer.
I found not standing in water did much the same !.
