A few years ago I went to have my ears tested with a view to getting compensation for loss of hearing due to aircraft noise, years ago we had no ear defenders so just had to put up with the noise. The tester agreed that I had impaired hearing, he put it at 23% loss. I had a letter from MoD stating that the loss had to be in excess of 25% to qualify and part of the loss was due to age, I was about 55 then.
Ron, Try going through The British Legion, an employee of mine, here in the States , a British W.W 11 exserviceman, suffered the same problem, he contacted the local branch of the Canadian Legion, who are affiliated with The British Legion, they sent him to a U.S service Hospital who took care of him at the British Govt expense and he also ended up with a small pension.
