The two Colins ar not joined at the hip. The other one can’t dance and has an odd taste in beer.I actually watched him dancing one night, and thought he wasn’t doing too badly for an old guy, until he told me he wasn’t dancing; just trying to get to the bar.

I have an odd taste in beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This quote comes fom a person who likes Stella (the belgian stuff) and It does not improve from being brewed in local cauldrons either.
Furthermore I don’t recall that same person turning his nose up at Black Sheep Bitter either, and it is available in New Zealand.

Yes, but only in wee bottles and it’s very expensive. I might buy myself a couple for Xmas to see if it still works!

Wee bottles they may be, 500ml, but worth every cent, I think you will find Brenda Wraith lives near the brewery at Masham, also home to Theakstons, what a place to live.
Buy a crate and educate the neighbours. Black Sheep

Membership milestone (or millstone?)

so glad to see that people still want to join FR, despite the notable absence of any Christmas spirit in some of the early posts on this thread. At least the idea of having a place to vent is useful, but I value freedom of speech highly, and would be opposed to people being barred, thrown out or otherwise shunned if they get carried away - perhaps a spell checker to give them a chance to breath before submission would lower the temperature?
All we can do as members is encourage people to make their point and agree or disagree as we wish.
I wish all 300,000 plus a joyful Christmas

As for the number of people who don’t post,[and I personally find it hard to envisage 299,988 people franticly searching the data base], I find there are two sorts of things in life: real stuff and made-up stuff. The Army, as we blue-suiters are well aware, tend to make stuff up as they go along, and the Navy? Well, great story-tellers, but they tend to forget more than they learn due it incahol outage. Nice enough blokes though, and full of stamina. Matelots were the only people I know who could land on their heads after falling off the Bugis Street toilet roof..

Both the Army and the Navy have there share of characters, though the Army was once described by Sir Edward Grey[1862-1933] as "a projectile to be fired by the Navy".

Anyway, back to the made-up stuff [I’m working on the assumption here that if Terry can bore the pants off us, I can at least amuse you while the said pants are down]. Real stuff is like electrical wiring, whereas made up stuff is pure imagination, like Catch 22. In the former you can be brilliant and useful, but the latter is pretty much hit and miss. How the creative process works no one really knows, but it is mostly about absorbing all those things from the School of Hard Knocks, letting them ferment in your subconscious, then writing them down when an idea pops into your head from nowhere. Unless words are strung together, and you are delightfully lyrical or just a boring old fart, then you might as well go and read the phone book.

It would seem 299, 978 of us are happy with the phone book.

Ether that or they’ve gone to sleep after reading this!

Hi Colin,
well after your post I thought I’d do a quick sql search on the database and it  transpires 2764 different members have posted in these forums since their inception on 17th June 2004, practically 2.5 years ago or half the life of Forces Reunited, seems something or someone  must be scaring most of them off!

EDIT: And over 300,000 searches have been made by almost 100,000 members, so that’s pretty clear what most people come on the site for!

I’m here because I like the cut and thrust of the forums.  [/I]

I am here because I was lured by the offer of free chocolate. Not much happening on that front by the looks of it.
I think I might ask for my subscription to be refunded and go and see if there is a forum on Cadbury’s site!!!!

Is a castrated pig ’disgruntled’!!!???
