My father-in-law Edward Smith [born Hull 1914] served as a Private in the Scots Guards during WW2.
We know for a short time he was on guard at the Tower of London but at some point became a PoW - how and when are unknown to us as he would never speak about his experiences.
Another website provides circumstantial evidence that he was incarcerated in Stalag IVG - Oschatz, Germany.
Can anyone shed light on any part of the above or suggest a route for further investigation? | | Report Post |
