The two main teaching unions have announced that they will hold a ballot of their membership with the view to holding coordinated strike action in autumn over the "sustained attacks on pay & pensions, the increased pension subscription, the increased work load, working conditions, conditions of service & the threat to jobs". They have asked Mr Gove, the education secretary, to hold meaningful talks.
The unions involved are the NUT (National Union of Teachers) a hard line & militant union & the NASUWT (National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers) one of the most moderate teachers unions.
Does the panel think that considering these unions represent nine out of ten teachers in England & Wales that Mr Gove should sit down with them & hold meaningful talks?
Hi John, a Scouse Pedant......nice to meet you.
Now how many others spotted that?
I fear the geek, even though he comes bearing gifs.
