Something else has just occurred to me to mention.

I can understand how frustrating it is for regular users when it appears problems aren’t being investigated. But the forum topics not working has been reported to us a few times and each time (as far as I know) we have fixed the issue raised, but a deeper investigation shows that we’ve been treating symptoms rather than the deeper issue.

My point in writing this is to say that regular users such as yourselves will see problems more often than we will, since we don’t use the site in the same way you do. Often you will report a problem and we will fix it, but the problem will reoccur due to the point raised above.

Comments like "It’s still not working" aren’t helpful, but comments like "I’m trying to access the following page, which is having the problem we were having before", are invaluable, and will help us solve problems a lot quicker.

I take the point in your last paragraph Phil but in fairness if we have reported a specific problem page and we still can’t access it what else can we do but say so?

It has turned out to be the answer to several issues here before. I have not tried it yet as I have no interest in entering most of the threads currently on offer!!
It is interesting that this problem of being unable to enter specific threads only cropped up within the last year. This leads me to suspect that the issue is not with us, muckha!!

I was only trying to be even handed Mike but we have now been told that the problem has been fixed. We shall, hopefully, see!

Your tip is worth following up and I’ll certainly give it a go.
