Status: Offline | SCOTS GUARDS IN KASR-EL-NIL,CAIRO 1913
I’m looking for any information on the 1st Batallion Scots Guard regiment stationed at Kasr-El-Nil barracks, Cairo around 1913. My grandfather Lance Sergeant 3707 Samuel Alexander Richardson who was to die of his wounds at the Battle of Aisne a year later was deployed here with his wife and children until the call to arms was issued. Anything however trivial would be very well received.
It is worth noting that Samuel passed away at the Hotel Majestic, Paris which served as a military hospital during WW1.
I have a wonderful photograph of my grandfather taken with his platoon outside the barracks in 1913 if anybody is interested.
