The bedroom is just as likely to be used for eating, texting and watching TV as sleeping these days, according to a survey.
As many as 14% of people - and 48% of 18 to 24-year-olds - eat in bed, while 41% play with new technology.
Also, 36% watch TV in bed and 32% talk on the phone while under the covers, the poll by the Duvet and Pillow Warehouse found.
Non-sleeping activities were more to be found in younger people than old, with as many as 71% of 18 to 24-year-olds using iPads, laptops and phones in bed,
The poll also showed that 10% of women like to paint their nails in bed, while 77% of all those surveyed read in bed.
In addition, only 20% of 18 to 34-year-olds ironed their bedsheets, compared with 60% of those aged more than 55.
While 67% of over-55s change their sheets once a week, 33% of 18 to 24-year-olds only did so once a month or less often.
Men were three times more likely than women to leave their linen unwashed for a month.
