Grandfather service - royal scots greys

Hi - wondering if anyone can help - I’m tying to trace the service of my grandfather George Thomas Faulkner. He was a trooper in the royal scots greys in 1928 and was based at Redford Barracks.  He was also in India in 1927.

I don’t know his service number, and It would seem he lied about his age on his marriage certificate.  He was born in 1906 but his marriage shows he was born in 1904.  I’ve tried contacting the records office in Glasgow but they can find no records because the information I have doesn’t tie up.

Does anyone have any ideas where I can go from here?

Thanks,

Sarah
