Stephen Frys Dambuster.

Colin, Gerard and Co.
Have just seen Stephen Fry on T.V. and he says he is leaving for N.Z. on Monday  to commence the "Dambusters", so if you want to be in better get those ’Tashes growing.

P.S. The Dog is going to be Nigsy or Digger. (The former being  more likely)

There has been a lot of work done on the film. Peter Jackson used some of  millions to create what is now recognized internationally as one of the most creative special effects studios in the world.

He has even had a small number of "Lancasters" made in China, and though they are of course replicas for the camera, I’m told they are very real until you get close.

Stephen Fry is writing the script, and as he is an intelligent guy I’m sure he’ll do well at it.

Now there’s a coincidence JD, I just watched for the umpteenth time the original version on DVD.
As well as rewriting history in that the dog’s name has become politically corrected I wonder what other concessions to PC will be made.
Maybe Barnes’s missus will be out to work instead of sitting at home darning and cooking, and a pat on the back has morphed into into a hi-5 :-)
It might turn out to be an excellent film...but the original has real Lancs, not just copies or computer generated special effects.
Us nautical lot weren’t allowed taches, had to be the full set but we’ll see what I can muster.
Incidently, in the original film on the runway scenes can be seen a number of stationary Lancs but in the air only 3 at any time.

It’s a long time since I read the book Gerard, but I seem to recall that they flew in separate flights to the targets. One or two didn’t even get there.
Cheers, Syd.
