How to copy.

Bob, where have you been mate--AWOL!!!!

I have had a computer/lap top for goodness how long and still have not got the hang of copying and pasting an article- could you put it down as simply as possible so that this overworked brain can take it in,things don`t click so easily once you are passed the 3 score years and 10+-----do your best Bob please as I hate to have to copy things down the hard way--the keys on the laptop are wearing out having to do it this way!!!

It helps to know the difference between copy and paste, and cut and paste, particularly if you are dealing with a Word Processor document.

Copy and Paste is just that!  The highlighted (selected) text is copied to an area of your computer memory known as the "Clipboard".

Copying leaves the original text intact and where it was.

Cut and Paste means that you actually remove the highlighted (selected) text from where it was, and at the same time copies that text to the Clipboard.

In both instances the PASTE command copies the chosen text from the Clipboard, and pastes it in the area you wish.....to get the pasted text to go where you want you have to left click your mouse so that the cursor is where the pasted text is to go.

As a practice you can try copying and pasting some of the text from this post into a Word processing document.

You will not be able to use cut and paste because you do not have the permissions necessary for the removal of part of this post....nor do I

Carl
