The 60s

Was lucky enough to enjoy the music of the 60s and all that went with it. Logged on to Upchucky .com the other night and listened to several of the tunes and songs that we loved at that time. It brought back memories of my time in the mob when I played in several groups both with service mates and civvies. I used to also run wild on motor cycles at the time and now wonder how on earth I survived that period of my life. I shudder now when I think of the speeds we got up to and all without crash helmets or leathers.Jeans were the norm at that time and offered no protection whatsoever. Happy days indeed and I wish sometimes I could return to them. The bikes I had were a 650cc BSA Goldflash and a Triumph Speed Twin. My mate had a Matchless G9 which if my memory serves me right was a 350cc single cylinder job which went like the wind. After leaving the mob I served 30 years in the Police and felt a bit guilty if we had to chase a biker. Happy days and
a time I am glad I was part of.

I seem to have missed the 60s. All that free  love and flowers in the hair stuff.

I did have a motorbike though, a Triumph Speed twin, which I came off once and once only, at which time I decided I preferred living to biking! Later, in New Zealand, I had access to a Matchless 650 which was a nice bike. At  certain rev range it used to ’stir the loins’ so to speak.

Matchless

Jake, the G9 was a 500 twin...think your mate’s 350 was possibly a G3.
Cheers !
