Hi Rita.

I see you have posted in World Naval Ships Forum and had an excellent response.

Dad’s Official No. D/JX251050 is important in searching. D means his Home Port was Devonport (Plymouth) and JX indicates Seaman Branch.

When you receive his Service Certificate all will be much clearer as it will breakdown his Service in Chronological order.

For information on the MTBs  it is worth looking at Coastal Forces Veterans’ site :

http://cfv.org.uk.

It will give you an insight.

Hi Ray,
Thanks for your reply and the input helps as it can be a bit daunting.

I have subscribed to CFV & WNSF as you stated, I am waiting for dads service record to come then hopefully will learn more.

I am trying to keep his memory alive for the younger generation, or it will be lost forever to the family.

Kind Regards
Rita
