Apologies Gerard I misread your statment there was a gap between Christ and Church and I thought you were in this country. I believe you live on the other side of the world . We have a Cathederal called Christ the King in Liverpool but don’t have the money to splash out on religion over here

Ref the theme of this posting . We must be in trouble the person in question gets paid in DOLLERS $ ’swhat’s wrong with POUNDS £’S

Thomas...the NZ Pound ceased to be the unit of currency in NEW ZEALAND in 1967 when we went decimal.

At that time, the NZ$ was worth about ten UK shillings, therefore two NZ$ to the UK pound. It’s the same today!

So if you look at this guy’s salary of $538,000-00, it would be 269,000-00 pounds, for managing a small city.

Thomas, sorry I had a quick squizz before copying and pasting but the gap slipped through.

What makes the greed worse in this instance is the state of the city, the needs of those badly affected being ignored, hundreds who can’t live in their homes but still have to pay rates and mortgage for their properties and still come up with rent in their temporary accommodation, etc, in many cases right from the first September 2010 quake. (Most insurance policies that paid for temporary accommodation ran out after 6 months)
This parasite is saying he’s suffering as well due to his TWO houses having sustained some damage.
He doesn’t even live in ChCh, commuting to Hamilton (near Auckland) weekends to stay with his wife in their other house up there where she has her own business.
When the December quakes happened he was on holiday in the Gold Coast, Australia and while the Mayor and other key people returned to ChCh from their holidays he stayed in Australia....suggesting to the population that we can get along just fine without him.

When the CEO (gloryfied Town Clerk) of a city of under 400,000 gets, not earns, more than the President of the United States we think something’s wrong somewhere.

Hope he’s getting better sleep than we are!

Gerard Message received and understood it’s not so different to this country the harder you work the less you seem to get. In the priesthood if you can get up to Bishop your in line to get a nice place in the house of( deadbeats) sorry Lords . After getting there  you seem to forget your times of being "ordinary" and rake in as much expenses that you can..

As our PM told us, we, meaning they, are all in it together.
