problems// share them
my wifes parents both well into there 80s had quite a few problems just before xmas when there car was stolen and wrecked// it was her means of transpot // she knew she would have only a few more years of driving due to health// and it got them both out into the country and able to do there shopping // it was there independance// the insurance firm that she/d dealt with for years were disgusting in there attitude to her// first they had the car held at a garage which was charging her 50 pounds a day when all she wanted to do was leave it at the garage that had always taken care of it for her// they also wanted it scrapping and offered her 300 pounds // she refused// the police were very helpfull as was the garage that she/d always dealt with// she paid the holding fee/s to the garage so they would release it and family rallied round to advise and help// she now has car back// she/s now her cheerfull self/ but it makes you realise a lot of people out there have problems and no one to advise or listen to // there made to feel there in the wrong // in the in laws case it was affecting there health// perhaps we could do with a page just to advise / make people feel theres someone out there listening// not everyone has family and friends available
hiyer Robert, indeed you are right.if there isent anyone close to you that can stear you in the right direction, things can and do get you down.ive found that if you are at a loss just a shout on forces reunited can,and does tend to get someone with the knowledge,or at least has been in the same situation.its worked for me,and even a mate of mine.hes not even a member, but is getting that sorted.i realy do hope that your in laws are back to there happy ways?.i personally wish them happy traveling,(nice to have your own independence)they should name and shame both the garage and there insurance company.hopefully they might get a few bob back,Ital take em for a free run out and a spot of lunch.(old git+vat)

Robert, I fully agree with what Dannie is saying. We are a like mined yet diverse bunch here from all walks of life and have experienced/come through many problems either personally or experienced them via family members/friends. However, only people like ’us’ know what it is like to be part of a ’forces family network’ where loyalty, comradeship & trust go hand in hand without question.
Just shout up anytime lovely, I’m sure there is someone here on FR that could either help or at least know where to go for any help/advice that is required.
As I’ve said before; we are a Band of Brothers/Sisters here on FR

Well said "caring Theresa". Remember the wheel that squeaks the loudest gets the most oil. Regards to all Sheila McKean
